HOLLY TOUR
Everyone come and join Ballestone Preservation Society in celebrating the 34th Annual Holly Tour at Ballestone-Stansbury House. When you enter the house, you will notice that the air is filled with the aroma of cider, cinnamon, cloves, and live evergreens. During your tour, you will see how the house might have been decorated for Christmas.
There is a new exhibit featured in the Gallery located upstairs entitled "Household Elegancies: Design Influence in 19th and early 20th Century Decorative Applied Arts. Once you have finished touring the house, you will be invited to the kitchen, where you will be served hot/cold cider and cookies.
On December 3rd & 4th, civil war re-enactors will have a camp setup. They will be portraying what a soldier's life was like while they were garrisoned at Federal Headquarters. You will observe daily activities and demonstrations.
Our freshly baked bread is back and will be available for purchase in the kitchen building along with mini-pies and gallon jugs of cider.
Purchase your tour tickets in the gift shop, and while your there, finish up any last minute shopping. The recently donated hand blown glass ornaments are absolutely beautiful. Other ideal Christmas gifts are etched glass keepsake items, handcrafted items, Ballestone's cookbooks, and a variety of children's items.
